Aswan Plaza Hotel is a 4-star hotel on the Kornish Al Nile, the riverside Corniche in the centre of Aswan. The railway station is about seven minutes away on foot, the souk and Feryal Garden are a short walk along the river, and cafés and restaurants line the streets around the hotel.
Seven room types suit solo travellers, couples, families and small groups. Every room is air-conditioned, with a private bathroom with bath, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a desk and a kettle for tea or coffee. Most have a balcony, while the Superior Double Room and the two suites look out over the Nile, the suites adding a separate living room.

Aswan International Airport is about 18 km away by road, roughly a 16-minute drive; the front desk can arrange an airport shuttle at extra charge, and taxis are the usual alternative. Many visitors come by train: sleeper trains run every night from Cairo and Luxor, and Aswan railway station is about seven minutes on foot from the hotel. Check-in starts at 14:00 and runs until 23:30, which leaves time for arrivals on the evening trains and flights. If you plan a trip to Abu Simbel, the front desk is open around the clock, which helps with very early departures.
Start with a walk along the Corniche towards Feryal Garden, at its southern end, and through Sharia as-Souq, a relaxed market for spices, baskets and henna. A felucca at sunset takes you around Elephantine Island, home to Nubian villages, a Nilometer and the Aswan Museum; on the west bank, the public ferry reaches the Tombs of the Nobles and their panoramic views. The Nubian Museum and the Unfinished Obelisk are about 2 km away, and the Temple of Philae, dedicated to Isis, is reached by motorboat from its marina. Abu Simbel is around four hours south by road, with tours leaving before dawn. The best time to visit is October to April, ideally November to February; summer often goes above 40 °C, so plan outdoor visits before 9:00 or after 17:00.
